Be Different.
In addition to my general practice, I help address the needs of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). People with autism are often high functioning and “gifted” individuals that may struggle with pervasive social, emotional, and cognitive challenges. High functioning autistics respond positively to therapies that include the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). But folks with autism are not people to be fixed. They also need to be heard and allowed to better understand their interests and desires.
I have over 15 years of working experience with high-functioning autistics. I also hold an Advanced Graduate Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis from Penn State University, leader in the field of ABA teaching and research.
